With their distinctive call and brilliant bright green plumage, the Ring-necked Parakeet is unmistakable. A beautiful and curious bird that is a joy to spot in the skies and treetops.

This paper Ring-necked Parakeet is entirely made by hand, with a wire under skeleton onto which is layered around 1000 hand cut and glued individual paper feathers. Clay is used for the beak and feet as well as the eye lids which are formed around hand painted acrylic eye balls. The long tail feathers are reinforced with metal wire so as not to get damaged, from there, the feathers get layered all the way up to the beak.

Once fully feathered acrylic paint is used to breath life and true colouring into the Parakeet, from it’s vivd bright greens right through to the beautiful red of the beak, every detail lovingly recreated.

There are two options to choose from:

• £475 - Parakeet on its own, ready to perch wherever you like in your home. The feet have wire toes so they can wrap and grip onto anything and everything within your living space, just like the real thing!

• £625 - Parakeet perched on a hand made branch installed inside a bell jar measuring 49cm tall.
